Description
This four-module interactive eLearning course guides learners through the evolving field of smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM). Open to both ASH members and non-members, the program blends case-based learning with expert insights and interactive exercises.
Modules include:
- Module 1: Pathophysiology & Mechanisms – Monoclonal gammopathies, clonal plasma cell disorders, and clinical significance of SMM (.5 credits AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and .5 ABIM MOC points)
- Module 2: Diagnosis – Virtual patient workup, diagnostic criteria, interpretation of labs, imaging, and biopsy results (.5 credits AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and .5 ABIM MOC points)
- Module 3: Risk Stratification & Management – Models, surveillance strategies, case studies with expert video reviews (.5 credits AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and .5 ABIM MOC points)
- Module 4: Upcoming Developments – Emerging therapies, clinical trials, evolving treatment approaches (.5 credits AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and .5 ABIM MOC points)

Learning Objectives
- Improve their ability to identify cases where SMM should be suspected and investigated further
- Explain how SMM is distinguished from MGUS and MM
- Describe currently used risk stratification models
- Stratify cases of SMM by risk according to International Myeloma Working Group criteria
- Recommend appropriate management strategies (observation, early intervention, or treatment as MM)
- Describe evidence behind therapies in development for SMM
